The Committee will recommend the best proposals to fund. The submitted proposals will then be reviewed by our world-class Scientific Advisory Committee. Ernst Sr., 79, originally from Covington, KY, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2019, as a result of complications of a chronic illness. Each cancer center is typically eligible to submit only one proposal per grant type for consideration. These centers will hold internal competitions to determine the strongest grant proposal. The V Foundation issues a call to the 70 NCI-designated cancer centers, other specially selected cancer centers and select Canadian research facilities. The V Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals. 100% of direct donations are used to fund projects we identify as the most likely to help men, women and children diagnosed with cancer.
